Stupid PLA PR

Only the PLA is capable of such a cheesy road-show -- other militaries would be too embarrassed to stage one.

Isn't this one of the troop visits by the entertainment circle organised by the general political department. It is to entertain the troops in the field and is not a PR show. It is good for moral. Every country has it.

The man and woman in the back of the staff car... is the PLA using old US Desert Storm surplus BDUs?

wtlh,

Mission Action 2010 per-game show.

Coatepeque,

I see... but still it is a road show by the performance art branch (what ever the English translation should be) of general political department for the troops in the field, isn't it? Albeit in if shown in front of foreign troops, it is a bit .........

Shanksow,

These performers of the general political department will be wearing anything they think would be used as a costume...

The performers are considered to be civilian staff within the PLA.

But this is a domestic exercise correct? The uniforms suggests this.

Wtlh,

They are Arts and Entertainment troops on stage, producing a show for internal consumption. It is all domestic -- too cheesy for anywhere else.

duskylim,

I second that!
If you're some poor conscript serving your mandatory time in the Army and haven't received as much as a single MMS of your girlfriend's bare butt(most likely because she's busy showing it off to some other guy while you're away) then YEAH, those china girls dancing it away in tights and mini skirts would make a nice view.
On second thought they look just as good anyway, anyhow!!! WAY TO GO PLA!!! That is what I call a morale boost!
And to think that when I served over here in Greece they just brought us folklore music bands*barf* and priests that gave speeches*double barf*...
